What's DTG Printing

Hey guys, welcome a new post in printzo.site. Today let's talking about DTG printing technology.

The digital textile printing industry brings together a number of different processes and technologies. In this post we are going to explain you a textile printing technology solution that made its appearance in the United States in 1996. In that year the first Direct To Garment (DTG) printer appeared.

What is DTG printing?

DTG (direct to gartment) stands for "direct to garment" printing. Using DTG technology, a printer applies ink directly to an already created garment. From a pre-established design in digital format, the machine transmits the design to the textile garment.

Its operation, in general terms, is similar to how an inkjet printer prints on paper. The only difference is the support, which in this case is a T-shirt, sweatshirt, pants or coat.

The selected design is printed directly onto the garment, usually with water-based inks, which are absorbed by the fibers that make up the garment.

With DTG, the entire design is printed on the garment at once, no matter how many colors you are using.

Why choose DTG technology?

Digital printing with DTG is economical. This technology is one of the cheapest available when the quantities of textiles to be printed are not so large.

When the design is complex and incorporates many colors, it is best to use DTG technology.

DTG technology allows the ability to use a wide variety of colors. Because the ink is applied in thinner quantities to achieve the high detail of many designs or photographs that are desired.

A DTG printer works in the same way as a regular printer by applying all inks at the same time. When printing on fabric colors other than white, a white undercoat is included to allow the colors to stand out more.

At Printzo we work on your t-shirts and sweatshirts with DTG technology. You can send us your design and upload it yourself to our digital platform and wait for the ready-made garment to arrive at your home.

Start now to design your t-shirt or hoodie, we are waiting for you.
